Akali is a high-agency melee assassin who must pressure Darius early to deny his passive stacking and extended trades.
This is a snowball matchup where Akali must use mobility and (W) to create safe windows for trades and avoid giving Darius lane control.
Trading pattern
Start trades with (Q) poke and passive autos, then use (W) to safely extend trades or commit with (E) when Darius is exposed.
Avoid trading when (W) is down to prevent being caught by Darius's pull (E) and passive stacks.
Punish Darius after he misses (E) or outer (Q) by aggressively using your mobility and burst before he can stack passive.
Danger windows
Darius is most dangerous when (E) pull is up; avoid stepping too close without (W) or (E) ready.
Extended trades after three or more passive stacks on you are lethal; disengage before stacks reach max.
After (R) is available, avoid low-health extended trades to prevent execute kills and resets.
Early game
Use level 1-2 to poke with (Q) and avoid extended trades before (W) is unlocked.
At level 3, unlock full (Q)-(W)-(E) combo to safely trade and punish Darius when he mispositions.
Avoid getting pulled by (E) early by respecting spacing and using (W) to obscure vision and reposition.
Power spikes
Level 3 unlocks your full combo with (Q)-(W)-(E); use this to trade safely and force Darius back.
Level 6 (R) gives you kill pressure and escape options; track its availability and only all-in when confident.
First completed AP assassin item boosts your damage and wave control; increase pressure and punish Darius's mistakes more aggressively.
Win conditions
Use (W) to create safe zones for extended trades and all-ins, punishing Darius when he mispositions or misses (E).
Deny Darius passive stacks by poking and disengaging before he can force extended fights.
Reach level 6 and your first item power spike to pressure side lanes, look for picks with (R), and leverage your mobility to outplay Darius's low mobility.
